PA516 Opening canopy set |
This kit allows the canopy to be fully functional, commanded from the transmitter. It is air operated from the existing landing gear air supply. The speed can be finely tuned to emulate the full size. The system incorporates a separate lock when closed. This lock engages two hooks in the scale location and assures a positive and secure lock. The opening angle of the canopy on the full size F-15 is only 19 degrees and this is faithfully reproduced. However, with this shallow opening angle, it would be very difficult to reach inside the cockpit to access switches, air valves etc. Therefore, we have designed a way to manually open the canopy beyond the 19 degrees limit to a more comfortable 45 degrees. This allows ample room for any servicing required inside the cockpit. The three positions are shown in the series of photographs below: |

scale opening angle (19 degrees) |

The system is failsafe in the sense that loss of pressure will not affect the lock. A manual back-up opening and closure system is incorporated. The design is modular meaning that the whole unit can be removed from the airframe in a matter of seconds. The PA516 opening canopy set consists of a structural and air support set to make the canopy fully functional. The system incorporates automatic locking of the canopy when closed. It taps air from the landing gear air system. Detailed contents:

PA191 Head Up Display (HUD) |
Dress up your F-15 cockpitdeck with a nice scale touch: the Head Up Display (HUD). The kit contains: |
Upper and lower lens CNC cut from 1 mm clear acrylic sheet |
HUD frame CNC machined from 1,5 mm fibreglass board (FGB) |
AC031 1/9 scale full body pilot |
This is the only 1/9 scale pilot available which is more or less suitable for the F-15. It is a full body pilot, so you'll have to cut off the lower part or make a full cockpit tub. It represents a French style helmet. Requires painting. |
AC015 TOP GUN pilot bust |
Alternatively, you can use the TOP GUN pilot bust (AC015) which is a bit too large for scale but fits the cockpit very well (see photograph above). No painting required. |
PA515 Dorsal airbrake set |
dorsal airbrake deployed for a slow flypast
The airbrake on the F-15 not only looks nice, it can also be very helpfull during the approach to the landing. The high drag generated allows you to fly the approach at a higher throttle setting and this will make it easier to make accurate, scalelike landings, especially when operating from small fields. |
dorsal airbrake deployed during landing approach
The PA515 set consists of a structural and air support set to make the dorsal airbrake fully functional. It taps air from the landing gear air system. |
Special care has been taken to make the airbrake work and fit exactly like on the full size F-15. This means that the airbrake sits flush at the front and is slightly raised at the back to meet the spinal fairing on the back of the fuselage. The photograph belows shows the fit around the lugs at the front in open and in closed position. |
The manual not only explains in detail how to build the operating airbrake but also explains how you can fine tune your computer radio to make airbrake operation very easy and safe. |

...airbrake closed | |
The airbrake is an integral part of the hatch. When the hatch is removed, the airbrake comes off with the hatch. Quick disconnects allow you to completely remove the hatch for maintenance. |

PA519 Flaps installation kit |
clean flap installation, hidden linkage
Flaps on the F-15 are not as effective as flaps on most other aeroplanes. They are rather small when compared to the total area of the wings and lifting parts of the fuselage. Nevertheless, they will improve short field operations and they make the model more realistic which can be important in scale contests. The wings of all F-15C ARF kits are factory prepared for working flaps. The flaps have all hidden pushrod connections. This flap installation does not interfere with the removable plug-in wings. This means you can still remove the wings for transport, no linkages need to be detached, nor any trims adjusted. |

PA520 Rudder installation kit |
clean rudder installation, hidden linkage
Working rudders on the F-15 model are not necessary for crosswind take off and landings but you may have other good reasons for installing rudders: i.e. to satisfy the AMA requirements in the USA, for precision aerobatics (four point rolls etc.) or for scale looks. Another important reason is that you can install a gyro on the yaw axis which is very helpful to counteract the characteristic fishtailing of the F-15 in turbulent conditions. The fins are factory prepared for working rudders. The rudders have all hidden pushrod connections. The rudder installation does not interfere with the removable plug-in fins. This means that you can still remove the fins for transport, no linkages need to be detached, nor any trims adjusted. Servo mounts are supplied for different type of Futaba or Graupner/JR mini servos. We use Futaba S9650 digital servos on the prototype to our entire satisfaction. |

PA182 CNC machined scale grilles set |
The new F-15 ARF has finely detailed engraved grilles as standard (see detail photographs on kit page). However, the serious scale competitor would want threedimensional grilles, just like the full size! We have therefore developed these CNC machined exact scale grilles. All the grilles appearing on the upper fuselage of the real F-15 are faithfully reproduced in a threedimensional way. The photographs above are taken from the model, not the full size aircraft! Click on them to see the grilles in full detail! |
The grilles are CNC routered from thin (0,4 mm) epoxy glass sheet. The resulting delicate parts interlock precisely into the 3-dimensional grilles. Some assembly work, a bit of patience and delicate gluing with a needle and CA adhesive is required. |
The flat type grilles (two on each air intake) are flanged for easier assembly and placement. The four other grilles are curved: one behind canopy, one on the cockpit side and two gun vent ports. |

PA523 Scale nozzles set |
with a bit of creative airbrush work, the standard F-15C ARF kit nozzles already look quite good... |
...but not nearly as good as these highly detailed nozzles on Philip Avonds' 2007 JWM model made with the PA523 detail set described below |
The F-15C ARF kit already includes quite nicely detailed nozzles. However, it was impossible to reproduce the finer details with the standard fibreglass moulding process, so we offer this upgrade kit as an option. This kit allows you to build a pair of true museum scale quality nozzles including all details like pushrods, bellcranks and very finely moulded nozzle flaps. These are cast from polyurethane resin in silicone moulds for the finest of details. These nozzles mount in exactly the same way as the standard kit nozzles, so you can fly with the standard nozzles and install these scale nozzles for static display or competition. |

PA522 F-15C scale detail set: pitots, probes, swaybraces, fuel dumps, fences and antennae |
This detail set contains a kit to build all pitot tubes, probes, swaybraces, fuel dumps, aerodynamic fences and antennae from CNC cut fibreglass board (FGB). When assembled, the scale details can be plugged into the CNC cut plywood receptacles (included in this set) which need to be glued inside the fuselage at the proper location (indicated with panel lines on the fuselage). The details can easily be removed for transport. |
