Taurus |
I built this model from an original Top Flite kit back in 1985. It was stored in a ready to cover state until I decided to finish it as a first project in my new work shop in 1996. I duplicated the original scheme, but used different colours, substituting Pearl White for the normal white, Pearl Green for the red and Pearl Purple for the black (all Oracover). This gave a very special look to my unique Taurus. The design is by Ed Kazmirski . It was by far the most popular model at the 1963 Aerobatics World Championship held in Genk, Belgium. Power on mine was originally an OS MAX 40 FX but now it has a more period correct looking OS MAX 40 SF engine. The model suffered two major crashes but was rebuilt twice. The kit is no longer available, but outerzone has the plans if you envision to build the model. The original plan can be found here and a reworked plan here.
