Duellist 2 40

This beautiful twin engined model was built for me by Jean Marie Struelens from an original Pica kit (Dave Platt) many years ago. I finished the model in 2021 with Oracover and graphics cut from Easyplot with my Roland Stika STX-8. I did alter the shape of the fin and rudder to better suit my taste. The kit is no longer available, but the plans are available on the fantastic outerzone website.

I installed two very reliable OS MAX 40 FSR engines driving three bladed 9-7 Master propellers (two bladed props gave insufficient ground clearance). The beautiful aluminium spinners are made by Tru-Turn and the retracts are pneumatic Spring Airs. The model flies very well and the sound of the engines running in sync is simply wonderful.

The colour scheme was inspired by an Airfix plastic kit of the Jetstream.
